Oprah

So, everybody knows that I'm not really a fan of Oprah as a person. I personally find her to be annoying and racist. There. I said it. You read that right.

BUT, her show has some really good topics sometimes. For example, last week the "Texting while driving" show really made me think twice about driving and texting/talking  at the same time. Did you know that texting while driving is like driving with 8 glasses of alcohol in your system? Or that talking while driving EVEN WITH AN EARPIECE is like driving with 4 glasses of alcohol in your system? WOW. This week she had a show about big bosses going undercover in their own companies (great idea by the way). I wish our ahem...superintendent... would do this! One of them was the COO for Waste Management aka the empty the dumpsters and pooey porta potties. Some of these people were sick, taking care of their entire families and not getting paid much yet still had a positive outlook. One mans job was cleaning out porta potties for a living, and you know what? He looked at it as an "adventure" and loved going to work everyday, even though it was gross. Or one man from Russia was a driver for 7/11 that used to be a janitor somewhere and was speaking about how he was looked down upon when he was just a "janitor". It made me think about how the kids at my school treat the janitors. You know what? They're people too, working hard for a living, just like the rest of us. In fact when I see a student being rude to them it pisses me off, and I immediately intervene. How dare you think you're better than them?! Or when they sling their crap all over the hallways...just rude. Anyways, the awesome part of this story is that the CEO for 7/11 rode with the guy in his truck while he made deliveries one night and saw how all of the stores absolutely loved him. His american dream was to own his own 7/11 store and ......................the CEO gave him his OWN store! Such a sweet story. =)

Anyways, enough about that. The good news this week is that I have now officially applied to 3 schools, with one more in the week. I really hope that with applying to 4 schools total will get me in somewhere! Keeping my fingers crossed.....
